Data vs Creativity
The Great Frenemies

As the ad and marketing industry cautiously approach the 2020’s it  seems that data and creativity are locked in a “bras de fer”: an arm-wrestling contest which could determine the evolution of brand communications for the rest of the 21st century.

Two venerable statesmen of advertising who shaped 20th century advertising have already placed their bets: Sir John Hegarty, warns that “Creativity is receding from the world of marketing and the obsession with data is to blame” whereas Martin Sorrell believes “the definition of creativity needs to change… Three drivers — technology, data and content are changing the nature of creativity."

Find out, on December 11, 2019, the eve of a new decade, what some of our industry’s brightest minds are thinking regarding the roles Creativity and Data will play at the IAB/IMC conference, “Data vs Creativity, the Great Frenemies”.

University Challenge

Some of the most creative minds among the Greek Generation Z are joining forces for a fascinating project.

Five teams from Greece’s top Universities will be challenged to create an advertising campaign promoting Greece abroad. The teams’ work will be based on a creative brief as well as guidance provided to them by top-level professionals, simulating the very same process that takes place at real -life ad agencies for major campaigns.

The results of their work will be presented and judged at a special event at the IMC 2019 on 11 December 2019.
